Do I need a referral from my GP?

No referral is required, call 0221551677 to make an appointment.

Will my child’s treatment be covered by ACC?

If your child has sustained an injury due to an accident then yes they most likely will be covered. I can assist you to submit a claim if you have not done so yet.

Are you able to come to my home?

Yes, I can travel to your home, your child’s school or where you would prefer. There are additional travel charges depending on distance, see Fees for more information.

What is the getPhysical programme?

The cerebral Palsy Society of NZ, runs a programme to enable members to gain additional funding towards keeping fit that can be used on additional physiotherapy. Auckland Children’s Physio is registered and can accept these vouchers. Please see Cerebral Palsy society for more information on this programme.

Do you provide hands on treatment for developmental therapy?

Yes. During your child’s treatment sessions, we will be hands-on. This will be either to help encourage normal movement patterns, challenge your child greater, or to teach you how to do the exercises at home. It is important that each session has elements of letting your child learn to move without help (independently) as this helps increase their own learning through error.

Do you have Paediatric trained Occupational Therapists, Orthotists or Speech-Language therapist that you work with?

We work with a number of private allied health professionals (Occupational Therapists, Orthotists, Speech-language therapists) who have experience within the field of paediatrics.  If you are looking for any recommendations we are happy to help.

Can we have an assessment even though we don’t live in Auckland?

With the development of Telly health (virtual assessments), we can now help children around New Zealand. Baby development is ideal to be completed virtually as the basis of our assessments is observing how your child moves and interacts with their environment. The specialised assessment called General Movements is based on video assessment only and is part of the gold standard assessment for children who have risk factors for Cerebral Palsy.

For children with possible coordination or movement problems, we can use visual assessment to test how strong they are and how well they move through activities such as jumping and hopping.

If you are interested but still have questions, feel free to call on 0221551677.
