Louise has experience treating a wide range of acute and chronic childhood conditions from newborn babies to adolescence. Due to Louise’s extensive training she is able to assess all aspects of your child’s health and how it may be influencing other aspects of their well-being. Louise works under the title of Visiting Neuro-developmental Therapist (VNT) in addition to a paediatric physiotherapist.
Louise is a hands-on, proactive clinician who has completed a number of Bobath courses, is Prechtl General Movements Assessment trained, and is certified in the Therasuit method. She has completed further post-graduate studies within Rehabilitation and is currently working with The University of Auckland and Cerebral Palsy Alliance to assist in further research into Cerebral Palsy.
Louise is also a mother of two young children. She understands how important your child’s health and their ability to participate in play is to you and your child.
Since this time she has worked at Starship Children’s Hospital and for the National Child rehabilitation service based at the Wilson Centre while raising her 2 children.
Ruth has an in-depth knowledge of infant and child development and conditions and injuries unique to childhood. Ruth has completed post-graduate training in Hand and Upper Limb Therapy and completed Bobath normal movement courses. She is trained in clubfoot treatment (Ponseti Method), clinical gait analysis, serial casting (for contracture management) and hand splinting.
Ruth is focused on working with families to help children meet their goals and achieve their full potential in a fun and engaging way.
